"World-class" Liverpool player could now "definitely" leave this summer after huge exit claim

**Mohamed Salah could now “definitely” move to the Saudi Pro League in the summer transfer window, according to a big claim from former scout Mick Brown.**

The 33-year-old has had a season to forget, not only unperforming on the pitch but also being outspoken off it, affecting his relationship with Arne Slot.

Salah is contracted at Liverpool until the end of next season, but there is no guarantee that he will stay until that point, especiallty given his recent dip.

Speaking to [_Football Insider_](https://www.footballinsider247.com/mohamed-salah-edges-closer-to-liverpool-transfer-after-cristiano-ronaldo-bombshell/), Brown claimed that the Egyptian could now “definitely” head to Saudi Arabia in the summer, but it may depend on Cristiano Ronaldo’s future there.

“Salah could definitely end up in Saudi Arabia,” Brown said.

“It’s something I think could end up happening at the end of the season anyway, there’s just a feeling that he might be on his way out of Liverpool.

“But now it seems like it could be tied up in the Ronaldo situation. It works two ways, it looks like Ronaldo is pushing for a move away, so if he gets his move and gets to come back to Europe, there’s obviously a spot open.

“Salah is the one they have wanted for a long time and probably the type of player who could replace Ronaldo in terms of quality and his superstar status.

“It’s certainly a deal that makes a lot of sense, even though lots has to happen. I’m not convinced it will rely on Ronaldo leaving, but it would definitely hurry things along in that sense because they could make that move quickly.”

**Should Liverpool sell Mohamed Salah this summer?**

----------------------------------------------------

This time last year, the idea of selling Salah before his contract ended would have made little sense, considering he was still one of the best players in the world at that point.

The situation feels very different now, though, and there is genuine sense in Liverpool cashing in on him in the summer, earning good money for him from a Saudi Pro League club.

It would allow the Reds to bring in a younger replacement who can hopefully be an upgrade, certainly judging by this season, and give Salah a chance to be a poster boy elsewhere.

If he stays, it wouldn’t necessarily be a thing thing – he could always go up a level in 2026/27, and has been called “world-class” by [Jurgen Klopp](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/11612109/jurgen-klopp-praises-world-class-mohamed-salah-after-liverpool-beat-crystal-palace) in the past – but it is hard to see that happening at the moment.
