Joel Embiid Headlines Latest 76ers-Knicks Injury Report

Heading into the NBA All-Star break, the Philadelphia 76ers are looking to bounce back with a rivalry game against the New York Knicks.

As the Sixers prepare for their final game for some time, the availability of Joel Embiid is a question mark for the home team.

The Sixers' recent outing against the Portland Trail Blazers was not the ideal ending to a long trip out west. While the Sixers started it on the right foot with a win over the Los Angeles Clippers and the Golden State Warriors, they would lose two out of three to finish at 3-2.

The 76ers are hosting the Knicks, who are closing out a back-to-back set. On Tuesday night, the Knicks and the Indiana Pacers went head-to-head and needed overtime to settle the score.

Despite the Pacers being the worst team in the Eastern Conference this year, they found themselves rallying behind a 30-point effort from Pascal Siakam. A 40-point showing from the star guard Jalen Brunson was totally spoiled. The Knicks lost 137-134, falling to 34-20 on the night.

With little rest, the Knicks will travel to South Philly to face the Sixers at the Xfinity Mobile Arena for a 7:30 PM ET tip.

76ers vs Knicks Injury Report

The elephant in the room: Paul George's suspension continues this week, and the veteran forward won't be seen on the court until March at the earliest. The Sixers will be doing their best to work him back into the lineup when he's able to return.

Dominick Barlow was a late downgrade in Portland. It was the first game he missed since December 23. Recently, the young veteran forward saw his two-way contract converted into a standard deal. Just as he got time to celebrate on the court, Barlow came down with an illness, which keeps his availability in question for Wednesday. Grimes is in the same boat.

Joel Embiid still pops up on the injury report frequently, but he's been able to play more often than not this year. Since the start of February, Embiid has missed two games. Prior to the absence in Portland, the big man saw the court for 38 minutes and 33 minutes in matchups against the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns. His status is in danger on Wednesday.

Since the Knicks played on Wednesday night, their injury report has not been revealed yet. Judging based on Tuesday's report, the Knicks have some names who could pop up.

Pacome Dadiet and Dillon Jones were both listed for G League designations. The latter was deemed available on Tuesday. As for Deuce McBride and Mitchell Robinson, they remained out of the lineup. Robinson is managing a knee injury, which means there is a reality where he returns to the court after getting some rest. McBride is expected to miss a notable chunk of time.

OG Anunoby missed his third-straight game on Wednesday due to a right toe issue. There hasn't been a timeline placed on his return, but it seems the Knicks are taking his setback day-to-day. He's a name to keep an eye on.
