NBC announced Sunday’s Super Bowl between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots averaged 124.9 million viewers across all platforms. The figure places Super Bowl LX as the second-most watched championship game in NFL history, falling just short of the all-time mark set during last year’s Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs matchup.
The Seahawks’ 29-13 victory over the Patriots at Levi’s Stadium drew audiences across NBC, Peacock, Telemundo, NBC Sports Digital, and NFL+, according to Nielsen’s Big Data plus Panel measurements.
Despite representing a 2.2 percent decline from the 127.7 million viewers who watched Super Bowl LIX, Sunday’s broadcast still ranks among the most-watched television programs in U.S. history.
The game peaked at 137.8 million viewers during the second quarter, when Seattle held a 6-0 lead. That number arrived just before Bad Bunny took the stage for his halftime performance, which itself drew 128.2 million viewers.

The Puerto Rican artist made history as the first performer to deliver an entirely Spanish-language halftime show, welcoming guests including Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga to the field.
The viewership figures were officially verified by Nielsen and released by NBC late Tuesday. Adam Schefter later posted the news on X .

Streaming Platforms Drive Engagement Despite Peacock’s Paywall Approach
NBC Universal declined to break out specific streaming figures for Peacock. The network did confirm its flagship service experienced its best day ever in both reach and hours streamed. That performance arrived despite a strategic difference from last year’s broadcast model.
Fox offered free streaming through Tubi for Super Bowl LIX, which contributed 13.6 million of that game’s 14.5 million streaming viewers. NBC kept its broadcast behind Peacock’s subscription requirement this year, betting on Olympics momentum and upcoming NBA coverage to drive sign-ups.
The decision didn’t prevent Super Bowl LX from becoming the most-watched show in NBCUniversal history. Nielsen’s expanded measurement system, which now includes out-of-home viewing in all states except Hawaii and Alaska, helped capture a fuller picture.

Kenneth Walker III earned MVP honors after rushing for 135 yards on 27 carries. The Seahawks running back powered an offense that leaned heavily on its ground game throughout the championship.
Seattle’s defense held New England scoreless until the fourth quarter. Patriots quarterback Drake Maye completed 27 of 43 passes for 295 yards but absorbed six sacks while throwing two interceptions.
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald’s defensive scheme overwhelmed New England’s offensive line.
The broadcast maintained strong viewership despite the lopsided nature of the contest.
Super Bowl LIX’s 127.7 million viewers came during a competitive 40-22 Eagles victory that featured compelling storylines including Taylor Swift’s attendance and Donald Trump becoming the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl.
Rick Cordella, President of NBC Sports, addressed the numbers Tuesday.
“The Super Bowl and the NFL once again delivered a blockbuster audience across the NBC broadcast network, Peacock, and Telemundo,” Cordella said in a statement.
