The New England Patriots-Seattle Seahawks rivalry reached a breaking point Sunday night when second-year coach Mike Macdonald led the Seahawks to capture their second Lombardi Trophy with a dominating 29-13 Super Bowl LX victory.
It was a rematch 11 years in the making when Tom Brady and the Patriots beat Seattle in 2015 on the famous goal-line interception. Fast forward to 2026, and the outcome went Seattle’s side.
Drake Maye was branded as Tom Brady 2.0 after posting a 72.0% completion percentage and 4,394 passing yards in his second season. But he couldn’t replicate the magic in the NFL final. The 23-year-old threw two interceptions as Seattle’s front seven suffocated the Patriots’ attack all night.
The blowout loss led to serious chaos that allegedly went viral, but NFL fans aren’t buying it.

A video circulating on social media claims to show a Patriots fan at a Seattle watch party absolutely losing his mind during the game.

According to the post, the man “went BEZERK” as New England collapsed, grabbed a chair, and launched it straight into the big television, shattering the screen. Seahawks fans in attendance allegedly retaliated by throwing him onto a food-covered table and dumping plates on top of him.

The optics are chaotic with broken glass, scattered food, and people scrambling. Patriots fans had reason to be confident entering the game, with their 17-3 team facing a 17-3 Seahawks squad.
But confidence turned to devastation as Seattle’s defense held New England to just 331 total yards and forced three turnovers, with only 78 yards allowed through the first three quarters.

In the viral video, a person wearing a Tom Brady jersey appears to smash a TV while nearby fans in Seahawks gear celebrate. It looks like a real fan meltdown, but many in the NFL community were skeptical.
Fans call out the scripted spectacle
Folks began picking apart the clip, pointing out details they say suggest the video may have been staged.
One fanwrote, “That is 100% scripted. Why would the chick with the Celtics shirt on be cheering for a Seahawk TD?”
