Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis refused to grant insight into the exact role of Tom Brady ahead of the 2026 offseason.

The Raiders have already had an intense start to the offseason. The AFC West franchise’s star player, Maxx Crosby, is reportedly seeking a trade elsewhere, which is a blow for new head coach Klint Kubiak.

Meanwhile, Davis brought in Brady as a minority owner and gave him a hands-on role. He was behind the hiring of general manager John Spyek and assisted in the search to land Kubiak after he won Super Bowl LX as the Seattle Seahawks' offensive coordinator.

Brady is also an investor in the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces, another team owned by Davis. However, the seven-time Super Bowl champion’s role as a minority owner and broadcaster for FOX Sports has drawn criticism.

When asked if Brady will be a more active presence at the Raiders' facility in Nevada or in daily operations, Davis kept things vague. “I think we will wait and find out,” Davis said.

He added: “Tom is a partner that is football-oriented. Knows football probably more than anybody. Nice to have him part of the organization. They bring a different structure and tools that allow growth on the field and off. It's an exciting time.”

Brady helped with the coaching search, showing influence and value as a team partner. But his position as a FOX Sports broadcaster has come under scrutiny, with many pointing to a conflict of interest.

Each week when Brady is calling a game for FOX, he receives and gathers as much information as possible from players and coaches on either team in order to be at his best in the booth.

Last season, alongside his broadcast duties, Brady reportedly met with since-fired Raiders offensive coordinator Chip Kelly up to three times a week to go over film and run through the game plan.

However, limitations were placed on Brady due to his agreement to become a minority owner of the Raiders, which was approved in October 2024. The NFL has recently relaxed some of these restrictions, including allowing him to attend production meetings when a broadcast crew speaks with the game’s head coaches and key players.

But he must attend those meetings remotely, while he cannot attend practices at team facilities. Regardless, Kubiak is excited to work with his mysterious new boss..

“Really excited to work with Tom,” Kubiak told reporters. “He made the mistake of giving me his cell phone number, so he might wish he never did that because I’m going to be calling him a lot. What I’m excited about is that we really have different offensive backgrounds - how we can pull ideas from each other. But, obviously, he’s the greatest that’s ever done it.”

With the Raiders holding the No. 1 pick in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft with Fernando Mendoza available, this is shaping up to be a pivotal offseason for Brady.
