Golden State Warriors Steph Curry has missed four consecutive games with a knee injury.
Unfortunately for the Warriors, that absence will extend another game, at least.
Steph Curry ruled out vs. Spurs with 'runner's knee'
Curry has been officially ruled out of Golden State’s matchup with the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night due to due to right patellofemoral pain syndrome, which is also known as "runner's knee -- an injury is defined by pain and swelling around the kneecap area.
Curry will also miss the All-Star game this weekend due to the injury. The Warriors are hopeful that he'll be able to return to game action after the break.
"It's a matter of learning as I go what works rehab-wise," Curry said of the injury. "Because it's still painful. You have to try to get rid of all the inflammation and pain. It's something we still have to monitor and injury-manage, but it's something where, if I come back too early, it could flare up."
On the season, Curry has appeared in 39 games for the Warriors and is averaging 27.2 points, 4.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals per performance.
The matchup between Golden State and San Antonio will be the third of the season between the two teams. The Warriors bested the Spurs in both of the previous meetings. After Wednesday night, the teams will also meet one more time in April.
