Victory vibes are still reverberating online following the Seahawks' Super Bowl LX win over the Patriots. Cooper Kupp took to Instagram stories on Tuesday to share a "How it started vs. How it's going" post that has fans buzzing.
The Instagram post reveals a direct message from Seahawks defensive lineman Jarran Reed dated March 13, 2025. Reed started recruiting Kupp to Seattle immediately after his release from the Rams. The second photo shows the two celebrating their championship win on February 8, 2026.

"OG leader of our D-line," is what Head Coach Mike Macdonald calls Reed.
Reed had just re-signed a multi-year deal on March 10 when he reached out. The Rams had officially released the All-Pro receiver and Super Bowl LVI MVP on March 12 after eight seasons and a failed trade attempt. Just 24 hours later, Reed initiated the high-stakes recruitment.
He leveraged Kupp's local ties as a former Eastern Washington standout to bypass a bidding war with the Broncos and Cowboys.
It was a tactical masterstroke for The 12s, as Kupp provided a safety valve for quarterback Sam Darnold, who signed his own $100.5 million deal that same week.
That internal lobbying helped Kupp agree to a three-year, $45 million contract on March 14, 2025, with $17.5 million guaranteed. It ended the tenure of a Rams legend who left Los Angeles with 634 receptions, 7,776 yards, and 57 touchdowns - ranking third in franchise history.
Kupp's homecoming to Lumen Field proved prophetic. He stayed healthy for 16 of 17 games in 2025, helping propel the Seahawks to a 17-3 record. The final validation came in the NFC Championship, where Kupp defeated his former team to secure the shot at the Lombardi Trophy.

"It’s an unbelievable story," Kupp said, per The News Tribune. "There were some really tough times this year, for my family and I. Being part of this organization, I stepped in, it wasn’t smooth, it wasn’t perfect, it wasn’t sunshine and rainbows."
By choosing Tacoma, Cooper is specifically honoring the "City of Destiny" where his father, Craig Kupp, established the family’s athletic legacy.
"I’ve never run blocked so much in my life. But I had so much fun this year. The relationships with the guys, in one year, are so special. I’m just incredibly thankful," Kupp added.
