Bills sign QB Shane Buechele and WR Jalen Virgil to one-year deals

Virgil signed with Denver as an undrafted free agent in 2022. During his rookie season, he had two receptions for 75 yards, including a 66-yard touchdown as his first career reception. He made nine total game appearances and one start as a Bronco. Virgil was placed on injured reserve in Aug. 2023 and was waived by Denver a year later.

The Bills signed Virgil to their practice squad the day after he was waived. The wide receiver eventually made it onto the active roster. He played in seven games for Buffalo in 2024. Virgil was then released and re-signed to the practice squad, signed a future/reserve contract in Jan. 2025 with the Bills but was waived ahead of the season.

Arizona signed him to its practice squad briefly. After being released, he spent a short time in the United Football League with the DC Defenders before making his way back to One Bills Drive.
