The Seattle Seahawks won its second Super Bowl title in franchise history against the New England Patriots. Seattle will be celebrating its Super Bowl LX title on Wednesday in Seattle, Washington. There is no doubt that a lot of Seahawks fans will be attending this parade. There will be people who will also not be in school on Wednesday because of it as well.

Ian Rapoport posted something interesting on his Twitter page on Wednesday morning about the Seahawks Super Bowl parade. He said, “Seattle public schools to stay open and deny excused absences during the#Seahawks victory parade… guaranteeing babysitters for hundreds of thousands of parents to enjoy the party.” It seems ridiculous that the schools would not excuse this absence for something that is potentially a once in a lifetime event for people in the region.

Seattle fans are not happy about public schools not excusing absences for the Super Bowl parade. This is what Seahawks fans had to say about this on Twitter:
Yeah bro if I had a kid, they’re going to the parade. School will always be there. This could be once in a lifetime. It’s one day

As a parent I could care less if the absence is excused or not… rules made by people who don’t have kids.

Seattle schools forcing kids to attend during the Seahawks parade is peak bureaucracy. Let the kids celebrate too, they just won the Super Bowl. Sometimes you need to break routine for moments like this. Lighten up.

Man, take your kid to that parade!

I get staying open but denying excuses absences is a stretch. No fun police.

It is not a surprise that a lot of Seahawks fans feel this way about public schools in the area not excusing absences for missing classes because of the Super Bowl LX parade celebration. School will always be there the next day. For people who want to go that badly, this is a once in a lifetime event and fans deserve to celebrate this Seattle championship.
