Wizards make roster move announcement before facing Cavs

The Washington Wizards are adding one of their developmental prospects on a temporary deal.

According to an official announcement from the team, Kadary Richmond will be joining the roster on a 10-day deal. The Capital City Go-Go player gets the call up right before the Wizards take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.

Richmond attended three different colleges since 2020.

He started his NCAA career at Syracuse, making 28 appearances to average 6.3 points and 3.1 rebounds.

Richmond moved to Seton Hall, where he would spend the next three seasons of his college career. During his third and final run at Seton Hall, Richmond started all but one of his 35 games. He shot 44 percent from the field, averaging 15.7 points per game, while producing 5.1 assists and 7.0 rebounds.

For his fifth and final season, Richmond had a run at St. John’s. He played in 36 games, making a career-best 48 percent shots from the field to average 12.4 points. He also dished out 5.3 assists per game, another career-high.

Richmond entered the 2025 NBA draft, but didn’t get selected to a team. The Brooklyn-born guard ended up starting his pro career in the NBA G League this season.

During the Go-Go’s regular season, Richmond has seen the court for 22.8 minutes per game. He has been shooting 48 percent from the field, averaging 10.7 points per game, while dishing out 3.5 assists, and coming down with 4.2 rebounds.

The Wizards and the Cavaliers will tip at 7 PM ET on Wednesday. Richmond’s status is unknown.
