Curtis Jones went for Roberto Firmino when asked to single out a Liverpool teammate who stood above the rest.
There have been quite a few ins and outs at Liverpool in the seven years since Jones made his Liverpool debut.
The last remaining Scouser in the first-team, he has been there for the highs and the lows and has stood the test of time as a valuable squad player.
A Champions League and two Premier Leagues later, Jones is still playing a valuable role with a new-look Liverpool side.

But out of all the players he has shared the field with, he places Bobby Firmino at the top.
Curtis Jones explains why Roberto Firmino is the best he has played with at Liverpool
Firmino really was one of a kind. He made the most dominant Liverpool attack of the 21st century tick with his unselfishness, creativity, and pure footballing talent.
When Jones was asked, he didn’t have to ponder for long.

Speaking to JD Sports on TikTok, he said: ““I would say Firmino based on natural ability, he could do things with a ball that I’ve never seen before and other lads can’t.”
There has been a real lack of flair in this team since Firmino’s departure. He was the one linking up with Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, enabling their insane scoring sprees.
Florian Writz and Hugo Ekitike have flair to their games, and they do excite in the same way as the Brazilian. That being said, they have quite a long way to go to match Firmino’s legendary Liverpool status.
Kevin De Bruyne is Curtis Jones’ toughest opponent
It should come as no surprise — Kevin De Bruyne, the best midfielder in the Premier League throughout the ‘Citypool era’ and a thorn in Liverpool’s side to boot.
Jones described the Belgian as such.
He said: “Probably Kevin De Bruyne, just based on his intelligence. If you give him space with the ball, yeah, he’s obviously gonna find that pass or he can shoot and score.
“And if you get close to him as well, he can twist and turn, he can get away from you.”

It was always a blockbuster fixture when De Bruyne was at City. Good to see it continuing to entertain with the new generation of players, even if it did end in a bizarre Liverpool loss.
