How would Nick Wright "fix" the NBA All-Star Game?
He says there's only one way.
The 2026 NBA All-Star Game is set for this weekend. The All-Star Game has been trending downward for years, now. The players don't take it seriously. No one is playing hard. We used to at least get some hard, serious effort in the fourth quarter, but even that has mostly gone away.
The league has experimented with different things, from letting the players draft their own teams to going to a USA vs. World experiment this year. But Wright, of Fox Sports 1, says that isn't the fix. He knows what is, though.
Wright says the "only" way to fix the NBA All-Star Game and get players to play really hard is to make it a race vs. race game.
"We just have to say, you know what, PC headlines be (expletive)...white guys vs. black guys," he said.
"I'm telling you right now, guys would play (expletive) hard. There would be a real edge to the game."
Bill Simmons added: "It's something that would get a lot of talking points."
Would it be a good game?
Wright says that we could be getting to the point where it's actually a competitive game, especially if the white team gets the Eastern Europeans, like Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic.
Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel are ascending, as well.
Of course, it's difficult to see the NBA ever going for it.
