According to ESPN's Anthony Slater, Kuminga was informed that someone from his circle was taking too much food from the Warriors' family room. The relationship between Kuminga and the Warriors was described as "petty," and many believed it should have ended long ago.

"He knew management wanted to ding him for missing a team-requested event and alert him that someone around him was taking too much food from the family room," Slater reports.

"The gripes between player and organization, as multiple sources said, had become 'petty' in the fifth year of a relationship many believed should've ended years before," he adds.

Ultimately, at the trade deadline, Kuminga was sent to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Kristaps Porzingis, bringing an end to the long-running drama.

Kuminga appeared in 20 games this season, averaging 12.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.

He signed a two-year, $48.5 million extension with the Warriors in September, which includes a team option for the second year.
