Official: Barcelona announce fresh injury blow

La Liga giants Barcelona have on Wednesday announced a setback on the personnel front in the club’s first-team ranks.

This comes amid confirmation that Marcus Rashford is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

Wide-man Rashford is fresh off his latest starting berth in Barcelona colours this past weekend, in a La Liga meeting with Mallorca.

En route to an eventual 3-0 triumph for Hansi Flick’s troops, however, the Englishman suffered a fitness blow.

As per a statement across the Blaugrana’s website and social media platforms on Wednesday:

‘The first team player Marcus Rashford has pain in his left knee after taking a blow in the game against Mallorca on Saturday at Spotify Camp Nou.’

Rashford, as a result, has been ruled out of Barca’s Copa del Rey semi-final first-leg meeting with Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid tomorrow night.

This will come as a source of concern for Hansi Flick and his staff, with Raphinha also likely to miss out at the Metropolitano through injury.
