NBA All-Star Weekend has all the biggest brands activating around one of the most exciting events on the basketball calendar, and adidas and Willy Chavarria are bringing the fashion this year. With All-Star Weekend landing in Los Angeles this year, Willy Chavarria pays homage to the city’s culture, and not just through clothing. Bringing the community together through food and music, this drop is one for the ages.
The capsule continues the story of adidas and Willy Chavarria’s partnership, characterized by oversized silhouettes and elements of Chicano culture and style. Stylish tracksuits blur the lines between fashion and sportswear, with a matching jersey-style top giving basketball a chic look. Taking a note from retro basketball franchises and NBA branding, graphic tees and shorts bring something new to the adidas x Willy Chavarria table.
Collaborating with the Compton Cowboys, an equestrian collective that aims to connect with inner city youth through horseback riding, the brand’s usual codes get taken for a ride in this collection. Superstars with a chrome toe box are already a favorite from this drop, with a baggy, tan jacket and shorts complete with Compton Cowboys branding completing the capsule.
The new collection will be available exclusively in Los Angeles first, with the brands hosting a multi-day cookout and pop-up event at Shoe Palace starting February 12.
The adidas x Willy Chavarria NBA All-Star Weekend collection will be available to purchase globally starting February 13 on the adidas website.
In other news, adidas just dropped Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance BadBo 1.0 sneaker.
