Famous sports podcaster Nick Wright says the NBA could fix the All-Star Game by pitting White players against Black players.
The NBA has introduced a new format for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game: a Round-Robin Team USA vs. Team World three-team tournament.
Despite the changes, many fans remain skeptical that it will improve the All-Star Game, with some believing it's nearly impossible to make it truly entertaining for both players and viewers.
Famous sports podcaster Nick Wright, on his appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast, suggested there might be a way the NBA could "fix" the All-Star Game. He proposed introducing a white vs. Black players matchup to get players genuinely competing and make the game exciting.
"It's fixable in four years if your guy Kon Knueppel continues on this trajectory. And we just have to say, you know what? PC headlines be damned. White guys versus Black guys—Luka, Joker, Flagg, Reaves, Knueppel against Wemby, whomever... I'm telling you right now, the guys would play fu*king hard," Wright said.
The 2026 NBA All-Star Game is set for February 15 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, with weekend events running from February 13-15.
The game will feature two teams of American players and one team of international players.
