US reality star Jill Zarin has responded after she was dropped from an upcoming TV show over comments made about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show.

The Real Housewives of New York star, 62, was set to reunite with her castmates Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon and Sonja Morgan on E!’s new series, The Golden Life.

That was until yesterday when the production studio confirmed she would not longer be involved after she went on a lengthy Instagram rant slamming the Puerto Rican music artist’s Super Bowl performance.

In the almost immediately deleted video, Zarin called it ‘the worst halftime show ever’ and that it wasn’t ‘appropriate to have it in Spanish’.

She also called his moves ‘inappropriate’, adding: ‘he doesn’t have to be grabbing himself every five seconds: Is he so insecure?’

Then continued that it ‘looked like a political statement, because there were literally no white people in the entire thing’ and she wasn’t ‘taking a side one way or the other.’

‘I think it was an ICE thing,’ she said, calling it ‘very sad’ that the NFL had ‘sold out’,’ according to Variety.

Shortly after, she was booted from the new series, with Blink49 Studios adding in a statement: ‘We remain committed to delivering the series in line with our company standards and values.’

There was also backlash from others in the Real Housewives franchise, with Real Housewives of Dubai star Chanel Ayan saying she ‘had to unfollow disgusting’ and Real Housewives of New Jersey Margaret Josephs echoing she was ‘horrified, disgusted and disappointed’.

On Tuesday night, Zarin responded to her sudden sacking in a statement to InTouch.

‘They didn’t even give me a chance. I took it down right away. People make mistakes. I’m human,’ she said.

The Grammy winner’s Sunday night spectacle, which also featured Lady Gaga, Pedro Pascal and Jessica Alba, was a celebration of Puerto Rican culture and diversity across the Americas and inevitably stirred up plenty of discourse

President Trump waded in to share his outraged reaction to the joyous, love-filled (there was a legal wedding!) display, calling it an ‘an affront to the Greatness of America.’

‘‘Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World,’ Trump raged.

Meanwhile, conservative organisaton Turning Point USA, founded by the late Charlie Kirk, put on its own alternative halftime show which became embroiled in its own mess after performer Kid Rock was accused of lip-synching.
