Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson's situation worsens after Bayern Munich announcement

Nicolas Jackson has been dropped from Bayern Munich’s matchday squad to face RB Leipzig, just days after a report stated he’s not in Chelsea’s plans.

The striker situation at Chelsea has been a topic of late, with Liam Delap struggling amid Joao Pedro’s fantastic form at Stamford Bridge.

And as mentioned, a report recently stated that Nicolas Jackson doesn’t have a long-term future at Chelsea.

Emanuel Emegha is set to make the move to Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window, which could push Jackson even further down the pecking order. Especially given how highly Liam Rosenior rates the Strasbourg man.

And it gets worse for Jackson at Bayern Munich.

Admit it, you miss Nicolas Jackson 😢

Nicolas Jackson missing from Bayern Munich’s squad to face RB Leipzig

Bayern Munich have already decided they won’t be signing Nicolas Jackson permanently, having purposely failed to meet the 40 starts threshold for his loan move to become permanent.

He’s appeared 21 times for the German club in all competitions, scoring five goals and laying on one assist. But only eight of these appearances have come via starts.

And Nicolas Jackson has been left out of Bayern Munich’s squad for the first time this season, with RB Leipzig the opposition in the DFB-Pokal.

What is he talking about? 🤦‍♂️

Should Chelsea give Nicolas Jackson pre-season?

Despite the official stance that Nicolas Jackson is not a long-term solution, the striker still holds a contract until 2033, which could see him given a chance in pre-season.

Fans pointing to the Maresca fallout as the only reason for his exit believe that under Liam Rosenior, a player of Jackson’s intensity could actually thrive.

While the club prepares to potentially move on without him, perhaps the same mistake could be made like we saw with Mohamed Salah or Kevin de Bruyne.

Given Emegha’s injury issues and Delap’s inconsistencies, it certainly wouldn’t hurt to give him a go.
