The Las Vegas Raiders went 3-14 in 2025, last in the AFC West. The low point came in Week 15 when the Philadelphia Eagles delivered a stunning 31-0 shutout at Lincoln Financial Field on December 15, holding Las Vegas to just 75 total yards, the fewest allowed by any team in the Super Bowl era.
Now in the offseason, with the No. 1 overall pick locked up and a new coach in place, one question is gripping the franchise far more than the draft: what exactly is Tom Brady‘s role?
Mark Davis Refuses to Define Tom Brady’s Raiders Involvement
On February 10, 2026, the Raiders introduced Klint Kubiak as head coach at the Intermountain Health Performance Center in Henderson. Kubiak becomes the franchise’s sixth head coach since 2021, following Jon Gruden, Rich Bisaccia, Josh McDaniels, Antonio Pierce, and Pete Carroll.
Kubiak comes fresh off guiding the Seattle Seahawks’ offense to a 29-13 Super Bowl 60 victory over the New England Patriots, signing a five-year deal with Las Vegas just 24 hours after hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.
Owner Mark Davis spoke to reporters after the event. When asked whether minority owner Tom Brady would take on a greater presence in the facility and more day-to-day input, Davis praised Brady openly but kept the specifics vague.

“Tom is a partner that is football-oriented. Knows football probably more than anybody. Nice to have him part of the organization,” Davissaid. He added that Brady and other partners “bring a different structure to the organization and different tools to the organization that give us the ability to grow on the field and off. And so it’s an exciting time right now.”
But when pressed on exactly what that means going forward, Davis simplysaid. “I think we will wait and find out,” leaving Brady’s boundaries as unclear as ever.
Brady’s dual role as owner and broadcaster worries rival teams. As a Fox Sports broadcaster, he is granted scheduled access to coaches and players across all 32 teams.
The NFL implemented specific restrictions when Brady’s ownership was approved in October 2024, including limits on his broadcast activities and facility access.
Other NFL owners have privately warned Davis that pushing Brady’s involvement too far could damage relationships league-wide. The NFL has acknowledged the tension but has not declared any formal violation.
Kubiak credited Brady as a draw, joking he made a mistake giving him his cell phone number and said working alongside him was one of the main reasons he chose Las Vegas.
Brady purchased his minority stake in October 2024 after a lengthy negotiation among NFL owners, who set specific restrictions to limit his activities due to conflict-of-interest concerns.
Las Vegas holds the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and Indiana’s Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza is widely projected as the selection.
With Brady’s role still undefined, every significant decision the Raiders make this offseason will draw scrutiny from around the league. Clarity on those boundaries is not just a front-office matter, it is a league-wide issue that will define how Las Vegas does business in the new era.
