Navy Midshipmen: Fans Rip Combine Over 1st Team All-American Snub

A total of 319 prospects have officially received invitations to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, which begins on February 23 and runs through March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium. Specialists, defensive linemen, and linebackers will work out on Thursday, followed by cornerbacks, safeties, and tight ends on Friday, quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers on Saturday, and offensive linemen on Sunday. Among the most intriguing prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft is Navy Midshipmen defensive tackle Landon Robinson.

Landon Robinson committed to Navy in 2021 and didn’t start receiving playing time until 2023, before dominating the competition in his final two seasons. He totaled 125 tackles, 14 TFLs, 10.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles across 26 games, earning First Team All-AAC honors in 2024 and 2025, along with First-Team All-American and AAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2025. Robinson delivered his best season in 2025, setting career highs in tackles, tackles for loss, pressures, and sacks, recording 64 tackles, 8.5 TFLs, 37 stops, 34 pressures, 22 hurries, four quarterback hits, and 6.5 sacks in 13 games.

Robinson was invited to the East-West Shrine Bowl and dominated the competition, which could lead to his selection in the upcoming draft. However, there are concerns because he is considered undersized for a defensive tackle, listed at 5-foot-11 and 291 pounds, and past players in Navy’s 5-2 defensive scheme haven’t translated to the next level.

Was the standout Navy Midshipmen DT invited to the Scouting Combine?

63 defensive linemen were invited to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, excluding Landon Robinson. The good news is that Navy is expected to hold a Pro Day at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland, though the specific date has not yet been announced. Many college football and NFL fans have weighed in on the recent development, expressing displeasure with Robinson’s snub.

Here’s what they had to say

Landon Robinson and Shad Banks – they both would have lit Indy up!

Lots of players got snubbed that should be there. And it’s astonishing. The process needs to be fixed. Again, what’s the purpose of receiving accolades, stats and high pff grades when none of that matters. Protecting Hype and reputation!!!

Landon Robinson not getting invited to the combine is a joke.

— JIA (@Jeremyinakron17) February 10, 2026

I personally feel that everyone should get to go to the combine. Especially considering most of the top prospects don’t even workout let others fill in that void.

A ton of these names should 100% be in Indy.

well they will have their pro day to impress

Landon Robinson is shocking . He had a great season. I would think the NFL would want to see him in drills and timing . Especially against other players.

The guy that proved he’s an NFL player no more than a couple weeks ago gets snubbed bc he’s not a D1 player – Nasty work. Montgomery is gonna make a GM very happy this draft cycle
