Former Notre Dame standout Boykin announces retirement

Miles Boykin has ended his pro football career.

The former Notre Dame standout wide receiver announced his retirement on Wednesday.

Boykin, 29, appeared in 73 NFL games over five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers.

“I’m beyond grateful for the sport of football!” Boykin wrote. “Thanks to my coaches, teammates, and fans for their support. My family and friends, I appreciate your constant encouragement. This sport has taught me so many lessons and I don’t know where I would be without it! I’m excited for this new chapter in my life and can’t wait to see where it takes me!”

A native of Tinley Park, IL, Boykin was taken with the 93rd overall selection of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Ravens after a strong junior season with the Fighting Irish where he hauled in 59 receptions for 872 yards and eight touchdowns.

For his career, Boykin made 38 receptions for 498 yards and seven TDs. He appeared in four postseason games.
