HoopsHype's Michael Scotto revealed that the New York Knicks and the Phoenix Suns are among the teams that expressed interest in Sochan during their failed negotiations with the Spurs earlier this season.
For this, both teams need to be monitored in terms of securing the service of the Polish forward, as they have open roster spots.
Sochan has been a mainstay of San Antonio's foundational core and rotation in the last three seasons. He earned the 2022-23 All-Rookie honors and served as the team's versatile unit.
But everything changed this season as he failed to play much under head coach Mitch Johnson. In the wake of the Spurs' meteoric rise, Sochan spent most of the season on the bench, averaging just 4.1 points and 2.6 boards in 12.8 minutes across 28 appearances.
The Suns (32-22) and the Knicks (34-20) are poised to compete for the NBA title later this season.
