Kevin Patullo and the Eagles offense had a huge day in their 38-20 win over the Giants.

The Philadelphia Eagles had a lot of problems on offense in 2025 — all of them eventually landed on first-year offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo’s doorstep.

That’s why Patullo was fired shortly after the defending Super Bowl champions saw their season come to a close with a home upset loss to the San Francisco 49ers, and fired after just 1 season in his role.

Still, Patullo’s success before that as a position coach meant he’d likely find a new job soon enough, and now he’s headed to a rebuilding AFC East franchise.

“TheDolphins are hiring Kevin Patullo as their pass-game coordinator, sources say,” NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo wrote on X on Wednesday. “TheEagles retained Patullo after making a change at OC but gave him the opportunity to search for another gig. He heads to Miami to join Jeff Hafley’s coaching staff alongside OC Bobby Slowik.”

“Kevin Patullo is going to the Dolphins as pass-game coordinator, per source,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler wrote on X. “Former Eagles OC lands in AFC East.”

The Dolphins have a first-time NFL head coach in Miami with Jeff Hafley, who was hired by the Dolphins after 2 years as the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers preceded by 4 years as Boston College’s head coach.

Patullo had been with the Eagles as an assistant since following head coach Nick Sirianni over from the Indianapolis Colts in 2021, spending 4 seasons as pass game coordinator before his promotion to offensive coordinator in 2025.

Calls for Patullo’s Firing Began After Week 1

The dissatisfaction with Patullo’s work seemed to begin following an unconvincing Eagles win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 in which the offense seemed to have undergone a wholesale change from the Super Bowl-winning season in 2024 — despite having 10 out of 11 starters back on that side of the ball.

“If the Eagles are in a pistol or under-center set, they almost always run,” The Athletic’s Brooks Kubena wrote on September 17. “If they’re in the shotgun, they sparingly run. The percentages are glaring when compared to other NFL teams. And opponents are aware. Already, Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley have felt the effects of a slow-to-start system that has been too predictable within first-time offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo’s first two games.”

By the time Philadelphia lost to the New York Giants in Week 6 and were ranked 29th in the NFL in total offense, it was full-on panic mode.

“Plenty of finger-pointing will occur this week after another disappointing performance by the Eagles. Since the same issues continue to occur, Philadelphia’s offensive coordinator will receive the brunt of the vitriol,” Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski wrote on October 10. “It’s deserved, though. If every position group is misfiring at points, then the coaching staff isn’t doing a good enough job making sure the entire unit is prepared.”
