Raptors’ Poeltl available to return Wednesday against Pistons

Toronto Raptors centre Jakob Poeltl is available to make his return against the Detroit Pistons Wednesday night, according to TSN’s Josh Lewenberg.

Poeltl has been out since Dec. 21 with a back injury, missing roughly the last seven weeks.

> Jakob Poeltl is available for the first time in 25 games. He’ll be on a minutes restriction, being that he hasn’t played in 7+ weeks. No CMB for the Raps and Detroit will be without their suspended frontcourt duo, Duren and Stewart.

Head coach Darko Rajakovic told reporters that Poeltl will be on a minutes restriction Wednesday as the team looks to ease him back into their rotation.

The 30-year-old Austrian is averaging 9.7 points and 7.7 rebounds in 21 games so far this season while playing 25.2 minutes a night.

Meanwhile, rookie Collin Murray-Boyles is out against the Pistons with a thumb injury.

Wednesday is Toronto’s final game until after the All-Star Break. They will resume their schedule on Feb. 19 in Chicago against the Bulls.
