‘Willing to Testify’ — WNBA Star Rickea Jackson Prepares to Speak Against Falcons Player James…

WNBA player Rickea Jackson’s attorneys said on Tuesday in Miami-Dade (Florida) County that she is “willing to testify” against Atlanta Falcons player James Pearce Jr. should the domestic violence charges against him go to trial. Also, the attorneys requested the court to dedicate “all possible resources and personnel” to bring “justice” to her.

Police officials arrested Pearce on Saturday, and he is facing five felony charges, including aggravated battery and aggravated stalking. According to the Florida victims’ rights notice, Jackson has the right to be present at all public proceedings and, if possible, give a “testimony” during the proceedings.

Jackson had informed the police that Pearce, her ex-boyfriend of almost three years, had violently followed her in his vehicle on Sunday morning. The Falcons’ player tried in vain to open her car door at a stop before ramming her car with his vehicle multiple times while she tried to enter the Doral Police Department. Soon, the police officials responded to Jackson’s calls.

A legalaccount claims that the police officials were forced to pull a gun on Pearce and order him to get on the floor. However, Pearce resisted the orders, getting back in the car before driving away hurriedly. Incidentally, his SUV struck an officer in the left knee during the flight.

Police traced Pearce in cars until Pearce crashed at an intersection. Pearce then got out of his vehicle to flee on foot. While officers still caught up with him, Pearce “began to resist arrest by tensing his arms and not allowing officers to apprehend him,” according to the report.

Consequently, the 22-year-old is also accused of felony battery of a law enforcement officer, felony fleeing and eluding police officers, and a misdemeanor in resisting an officer without violence to his person. In the meantime, he was released on a $20,500 bond Sunday evening.

Speaking on the development, Jackson’s legal team says that Jackson remains “willing” to testify at trial if necessary.

Possibly in a show of support, the WNBA released an updated bracket that shows Jackson is no longer listed to participate in the ongoing Unrivaled basketball league. For Pearce, his legal team maintains that the athlete is innocent, while insinuating that the popularized narrative of events isn’t the “full, complete story.”

All eyes are on the Florida police and justice departments for a verdict on Pearce’s actions. Also, the NBA is expected to make official decisions concerning the events.
