Is Malik Beasley Coming Back to the Pistons? The Detroit Pistons favorite is in the news again as the team's GM gets questioned about it.

The Detroit Pistons are sitting pretty at the top spot in the Eastern Conference, according to NBA research, but that doesn’t stop those in the Motor City from wishing the team would bring shooting guard Malik Beasley back to the team. Beasley is under NBA investigation for suspected prop bets, even though he was cleared in a federal inquiry about the matter.

Beasley’s potential gambling violations has impact his NBA career and the chance for the Detroit Pistons to bring him back on the court. But, time has passed, and you may be wondering, “Is Malik Beasley coming back to the Pistons?”

What’s frustrating is that the veteran shooting guard was close to signing a new deal with the Detroit Pistons before he was put under investigation. Plus, the U.S. Attorney’s office has found no evidence on him. So, can he come back?

Now, Detroit Pistons general manager Trajan Langdon is opening up about the status of Beasley and the possibility of him coming back to Detroit.

Is Malik Beasley Coming Back to the Detroit Pistons? General Manager Trajan Langdon Discusses the Beasley Situation

On Wednesday, February 11, Langdon talked about the team’s situation with Beasley and said, point blank, that that the player is till under an NBA investigation and he “is not sure when that will conclude,” according to Pistons reporter Jeremy Otto.

That update certainly makes it less likely to bring Beasley back in time for a playoff run. Plus, factor in that Beasley hasn’t played a single NBA game in more than nine months and that the Pistons are all filled up on their roster, and that makes the idea of bringing him back even more challenging.

But, never say never, and it could certainly happen, especially if it’s for next season. Last season for the Detroit Pistons, Beasley made 41.6% of his threes on a whopping 9.3 attempts per game, according to ESPN research.

The Detroit Pistons Brawl That People Are Still Talking About

On Monday night, February 9, the Pistons and Charlotte Hornets engaged in a brawl that resulted in four players getting ejected, according to NBA research, including Charlotte’s Moussa Diabate and Miles Bridges and Detroit’s Jalen Duren and Isaiah Stewart. Then, Charlotte Hornets head coach Charles Lee was also ejected in the fourth quarter after an argument with a referee on a call.

The Detroit Pistons prevailed in the game with a 110-104 final score. But, the Pistons lost two of their players for the next handful of games.

On Charlotte’s end, Diabate and Bridges will be out for four games. For the Pistons, Duren has been suspended for two games and Stewart is out for the Pistons’ next seven games.

After the game, reporters asked Cunningham in the locker room about the brawl. “I saw the two guys come together. The headbutt was what it was,” Cunningham told reporters. “JD was just trying to defend himself.”

He later added, “Anybody coming at you, a grown man coming at you that way, you want to defend yourself. But there’s a lot going on. I can’t act like I just had the best view of everything.”
