Barcelona midfielder [Marc Casado](/barcelona-la-liga/111027/marc-casado-sends-out-strong-message-on-his-barcelona-future-after-real-oviedo-win) is being linked with a surprise move to Saudi Arabia in a rather bizarre new report.
If Casado does decide it’s time to “try a new experience” then it’s claimed that “Saudi Arabia” is an option for the 22-year-old.
The report goes on to say that Casado wouldn’t be interested in a long-term move to the Middle East but could be tempted “by a round trip like the ones Veiga and Laporte, among others, have made.”
Gabri Veiga raised eyebrows in 2023 when he jetted out to Al-Ahly despite seemingly have his pick of clubs. The midfielder returned last year and signed for Porto.
Aymeric Laporte also undertook a similar journey. The defender joined Al-Nassr from Manchester City but has since returned to Europe and is now back at Athletic Club.
Saudi clubs have managed to lure many top players to the Middle East on lucrative contracts, but it would still be a real surprise if Casado opted to swap Barca for the SPL.
