The party atmosphere in Seattle took a sharp turn on Wednesday when one of the Seahawks’ defensive leaders grabbed the microphone and warned everyone it might not be a good idea.

Linebacker Ernest Jones IV didn’t hold back during the team’s Super Bowl LX parade celebration after Seattle’s 29-13 win over the New England Patriots. In fact, he admitted as much before launching into a profanity-filled speech that quickly went viral.

The 26-year-old linebacker was speaking at the pre-parade rally at Lumen Field before the team’s two-mile procession through downtown Seattle. Thousands of fans packed the stadium to celebrate a championship run powered largely by a dominant defense.

Jones began by thanking ownership and team leadership.

“First off, I want to say shoutout to Jody Allen, shoutout to John Schneider for making this all possible, man. Shoutout to coach Mike Macdonald for helping us get to this point,” he said. “But also, shoutout to these bada-- motherf------ who play this game the right way.”

The linebacker then shifted his focus to critics who questioned Seattle throughout the season, particularly those who doubted quarterback Sam Darnold and the team’s defense.

“Not only do we have the best defense in the world, we got the best team in the world,” Jones said. “And quite frankly: if you got anything to say about my quarterback, if you got anything to say about defense – if you got anything to say about my defense – if you got anything to say about my o-line, and if you anything to say about the city of Seattle, I got two words for you.”

He then delivered the message that sent the crowd into a frenzy. “F--- you!”

He added 25 tackles, an interception, a pass deflection, and a forced fumble across three playoff games.

The former South Carolina standout, who previously played for the Los Angeles Rams and Tennessee Titans before being traded to Seattle during the 2024 season, re-signed with the Seahawks on a three-year deal in March 2025. His impact was immediate, helping transform the unit into one of the league’s most productive defenses.

In Super Bowl LX, Jones helped anchor a defense that limited the Patriots to 13 points and consistently pressured sophomore quarterback Drake Maye, while leading the team with a game-high 11 tackles.
