Kerr spoke about Porzingis progress as the big man works his way back from an Achilles injury.
"Kristaps (Porzingis) played today and was moving better than yesterday and seemed to be in a good rhythm," Kerr said per ESPN's Anthony Slater. "I didn't see it, but I think it was the 5-on-5, which is, I think it was a half-court, still half-court, but I believe it was fives and half-court. But yeah, they said he looked good, and so we'll just see how it plays out. "
Porzingis has not made his Golden State debut yet after being acquired at the trade deadline in a deal that sent Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield to the Atlanta Hawks.
The Latvian big man has not played since Jan 7 and continues his recovery process. Kerr also addressed Curry's status heading into the break.
"I talked to Steph earlier, and he said he was feeling better, so he's trending in a good direction, but it'll be just day-to-day when he comes back."
Curry is dealing with a runner's knee injury and was already ruled out going into the break. The Warriors' offense has felt his absence, especially in spacing and shot creation, as the team adjusts its rotation.
After a 126-113 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, the Warriors dropped to 29-26 and are trying to stay in the Western Conference playoff race. Health will be a key factor in their second-half push.
