Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Kees Smit, Vinicius Junior and Nicolas Jackson that you may have missed today…
Chelsea and Manchester United have reportedly been told they will need to fork out €45 million (£39.2m/$53.6m) if they want to sign AZ Alkmaar wonderkid Kees Smit in the summer window.
Smit has established himself as a regular at AZ far quicker than many expected. Operating primarily as a central or defensive midfielder, he has already amassed more than 30 senior league appearances, contributing goals and assists in both Eredivisie and European competition despite his age.
During the current campaign, he has started the majority of AZ’s league fixtures, logging over 1,500 minutes. His output has been particularly impressive given his role, with strong numbers for chance creation, goals and assists when compared to others in his position across the division.
Those performances have reinforced chasing clubs belief that Smit has the technical and tactical profile to adapt to the Premier League, but if chasing clubs really want to get Smit signed up at the end of the season, they will have to pay big money.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a fee of £39.2 million will be enough to get a transfer deal done.
However, the Premier League giants are not the only team interested in the 20-year-old. Real Madrid and Barcelona are all thought to be keeping tabs on the situation and are also ready to make a move for the young man.

To have some of the biggest clubs chasing this young man just shows the kind of ability that he has, and the player that they all believe he could be in the coming seasons if he develops at the rate that he is right now.
The summer window is a few months away, there will be plenty of time for all the big clubs to try and sign Smit, and he may even decide to agree a new contract at his curret club, but there will be alot more speculation to come.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up though as Chelsea will pay whatever it takes to get him signed, if they really want the lad.
NICOLAS JACKSON TO LEAVE
Former Blues star Jason Cundy has opened up and claimed that he feels Nicolas Jackson will be one of the players that Chelsea will allow to leave in the summer transfer window, as there could be a massive shake-up at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea made the decision last summer to bring in Liam Delap and Joao Pedro to the club in order to solve their goal-scoring problems, as Nicolas Jackson failed to make the impact that many had hoped for after his move from Spanish football.
However – both Delap and Pedro have been very inconsistent this season, while Jackson was shipped out to Bayern Munich in order to get him off the books for a season, but the summer window will give Chelsea the chance to offload the deadwood and also add some quality to that attack.
Now, amid the speculation Cundy believes there could be a summer shake-up among Chelsea’s forwards which is likely to see Jackson sold, and claims that loan move to Bayern Munich could actually turn into a £70 million permanent transfer: “It feels like Jackson’s going to go,” he told TalkSport. “It feels like that bridge has been burned even though there’s a new manager.
“My guess would be that maybe Liam Delap goes on loan, that might be an option.
“He feels a bit raw, he’s had one season in the Premier League. Maybe he needs to go and play every week.”

There are times at Chelsea, and Bayern Munich, that Jackson looks like a striker that could 30 goals a season, but he simply cant put in the consistent performances that would make him a top class striker.
If Cundy is right and Chelsea manage to get £70 million for Jackson in the summer window, they will be very lucky as he is probably worth only half of that. But he is right in saying that Jackson is probably done at Stamford Bridge and will leave.
The Blues have big plans and getting his £250k-a-week wages of the books will be a massive help in their quest to keep adding to the squad.
VINI WANTS EUROPEAN MOVE
Chelsea transfer target and Brazilian superstar Vinicius Junior wants to stay in Europe even if he leaves Real Madrid at the end of the current season, according to Flamengo president Luiz Eduardo Baptista.
Vinicius has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past few weeks ever since news broke that he was one of the players that helped end Xabi Alonso’s time at the Bernabeu.
The Madrid fans have even turned on the Brazilian star, and recent reports in the Spanish media have claimed that President Florentino Perez is very much open to the idea of letting some of his big players leave the club, if the right offer is made.
But A ‘Galactico’ at Santiago Bernabeu is generating talk of a Premier League transfer being made in 2026, as reports have claimed that Vinicius could be the big name that arrives at Stamford Bridge in a move that could cost the club over £130 million.
Vinicius Junior has also been linked with a move to Flamengo in recent weeks, but it seems that he would prefer to stay in Europe if he does decide to leave Madrid, He told AS: “Yes, but Vinicius Junior wants to stay in Europe. It’s a different time, as we were just discussing, about each player’s current situation.
‘Whether it’s due to Vini’s wishes or the financial considerations involved, it’s more of a conversation for the fans to imagine. That’s the reality. Vinicius is always welcome.
“When he comes to Brazil, he goes to the Maracana, he visits the Flamengo stands, he has friends at home. We want Vini, but he’s not yet within Flamengo’s reach. Not yet.”

There has been alot of speculation about the future of Vinicius Junior for some time now, and to be honest, we would not be shocked to see him actually leave Madrid at the end of the season.
But with that massive asking price and his sky high wage demands, there will only be a handful of clubs that are able to give him the kind of deal that he wants or needs, and Chelsea are one of those clubs.
However – the way that Vinicius is, the fact he frustrates his own fans, Blues fans may not welcome the idea of his arrival in the summer
