Chelsea are expected to rival Newcastle and Spurs in the summer in the race to sign Serbian striker Dušan Vlahović who will be available as a free agent once his current contract at Juventus ends.
Vlahović has scored 64 times in 164 games for the Turin side in four years since joining them from fellow Serie A side Fiorentina, even if he has struggled consistently to show the form that made him one of the most desired strikers in Europe earlier in his career.
It is a recognition that Chelseas still have issues scoring goals. Whilst Joao Pedro and Liam Delap were signed to compete for minutes, neither has been able to perform in front of goal on a regular basis.
And whilst Nicolas Jackson is expected to return to Stamford Bridge after the expiry of his loan spell with Bayern Munich, it is expected he will then be sold.
