Manchester United legend Gary Neville has said that attacker Bryan Mbeumo would have been an even better fit at Arsenal or Chelsea. The Cameroonian arrived at Old Trafford last summer from Brentford.
Mbeumo, 26, has been a key player for United, contributing 10 goals and two assists in 22 outings across competitions. Nine of those strikes and both assists have come in the Premier League, where the Red Devils are fourth after 26 matches, 11 points behind leaders Arsenal (56), who have a game in hand.
Although the Cameroon international didn't score in his latest outing, Mbuemo did provide an assist for Benjamin Sesko's stoppage-time equaliser in the 1-1 Premier League draw at West Ham United earlier this week.
On the Stick to Football podcast (via Arsenal Insider), Neville said about Mbeumo's better fit with the leaague-leading Gunners or even the Blues:
“If you think about it with Mbeumo, to be fair, probably for Chelsea, probably for Arsenal, he’d have been better for those clubs than the one he’s ended up with. I think Mbeumo for Arsenal would have been a sensation!”
United signed Mbuemo from Brentford in a reported £71 million deal, with the attacker putting pen to paper on a five-year contract, with the option of another year.

Manchester United interim head coach Michael Carrick praised his team for their character in the hard-fought midweek Premier League draw at West Ham United. The result meant that Carrick remains unbeaten at the United helm.
Tomas Soucek's 50th-minute opener looked likely to be the winner for West Ham before Bryan Mbeumo fed Benjamin Sesko for the equaliser deep in stoppage time.
"It was a tough game," said Carrick on BBC. "We expected that really. I don't think we were at our best in terms of sharpness and attacking side of the game. So sometimes you have to make the most of what the night throws at you.
"Credit to the boys for coming back again, it is a great trait to have in the team. There are positives to take from it, you can't win every game, we certainly didn't want to come away from here without a point.
The Red Devils next take on Everton away on Monday (February 23) in the Premier League, having been knocked out of both domestic cup competitions earlier in the season.
