Chelsea are said to be interested in a striker who has been linked with a move to Tottenham.

Chelsea are said to be racing to sign a reported Tottenham target this summer. The Blues had a very quiet winter window despite early signs that they might strengthen Liam Rosenior’s hand with a new centre-back and potentially a new midfielder.

In the end, the recall of Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg was the closest they got to a new signing, with the centre-back effectively serving as a make-do solution, through Rosenior is a big fan.

The positive to a quiet winter, however, is that Chelsea are now better positioned to have a big summer window, with funds freed up as far as Financial Fair Play goes.

By the time the summer rolls around, Rosenior will have a clear idea of which areas of his squad he needs - and indeed wants - to strengthen. One area Chelsea could do with more strength is in the striker position, with Liam Delap not looking as though he is quite at the very top level just yet.

Still only 23 years of age, Chelsea are not likely to give up on Delap any time soon, but they could do with better competition for Joao Pedro, who has had an excellent first season at Stamford Bridge.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Chelsea are now showing interest in Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who has long been linked with a move to the Premier League. Vlahovic has regularly been linked with a move to Tottenham, including recently.

Vlahovic was a £60million or so signing for Juventus back in January 2022, but remarkably, he could leave for absolutely nothing this summer, with his contract set to expire. Talks are said to have stalled between Juventus and the striker, who has scored six times in 17 appearances across all competitions this season.

Newcastle United and Manchester United have also been linked with a move for Vlahovic, who will be a hot commodity if he becomes available for free, especially8 given he is still only 26 years of age.

Tudor on Vlahovic

Former Juventus boss Igor Tudor once described Vlahovic as ‘an example’ to other players. He said last year: “I’ll repeat what I have already said. In this month and a half of preparation he has always been focused, he has worked as an example.

“[Juventus general manager] Comolli said he is staying and I’m happy. He is a strong player and hopefully he keeps up this scoring rate, which is no small thing. Only two games have been played. I want to go match by match and do our best in the next one. Stay focused and train well, then we’ll see where this mindset and way of working takes us.”
