Manchester City star Bernardo Silva is ‘the best market opportunity’ of the summer and an ‘extraordinary deal’ for whoever gets him.
That’s according to Sport. The Spanish newspaper act like a promotional piece for the Manchester City star today, although strangely don’t link him to Barcelona for once.
Silva is continuing to impress in Manchester City’s starting 11, as he has done from day one. He was once again a key player in the win over Fulham this week.
The 31-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down, which has set up an interesting few months ahead. Why? Because his deal at Manchester City is due to expire in the summer. And so far, there have been no indications he’ll be extending his deal at the Etihad.
The Portuguese midfielder has already been linked with a move away in recent months too. Indeed, Sport Witness covered a report earlier this week stating that Juventus have him in their sights for the summer.
The Italian giants have already prepared a two-year deal, with the coming weeks seen as decisive for any potential transfer.
‘Wide range of destinations’
And Sport believe if they, or anyone else can sign him, then the deal will be one of the best of the summer. The Spanish newspaper lavish praise on Silva today and how he’s still decisive for Guardiola and fundamental to Manchester City’s ‘balance and fluidity’.
They say he once again stood out against Fulham, controlling the midfield and acting as the glue between midfield and attack. As far as they’re concerned, Silva is the complete midfielder, capable of playing various positions to the highest standard.
It’s because of that he’ll have a ‘wide range of destinations’ available to him in the summer. Most clubs, according to the newspaper, will see him as a ‘real market opportunity’. In fact, Sport think he’ll be one of the most attractive on the market. Whoever gets him, on a free, will have ‘closed an extraordinary deal’.
Where are Barcelona?
What’s interest is that they don’t throw Barcelona into the mix. The Catalans have been linked with Silva for years.
Indeed, nearly every transfer window brought links pushing him towards Camp Nou. In 2024, they even explored payment plans to try to secure a deal.
Now he’s available on a free, that interest seems to have died down. Or, perhaps Sport are trying to give their club a little nudge with this latest, glowing report on the Manchester City man?
