Cooper Flagg appears well on his way to earning NBA Rookie of the Year honors, but the Dallas Mavericks rookie will miss this weekend’s All-Star game festivities due to injury.
Flagg, 19, was diagnosed with a left midfoot sprain suffered during Tuesday’s game against Phoenix. He will miss Thursday’s game against the L.A. Lakers and will also miss the 2026 Rising Stars game on Friday during All-Star weekend.
During his last six games, the former Duke star is averaging 32.0 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.
Against Phoenix, he recorded his 24th career 20-point game tying Kobe Bryant for the sixth-most 20-point games by a teenager in NBA history.
Meantime, amid reports that a Dallas investor group wants to partner with Mark Cuban to buy back the Mavericks, the Dumont and Adelson families issued a statement to the Dallas Morning News:
“The Dumont and Adelson families remain fully committed to the Dallas Mavericks franchise and to the Dallas community. They remain focused on building a championship organization for the long term.”
