Jose Alvarado signals for more to come after monster game vs. 76ers

The New York Knicks aren't that far removed from an eight-game win streak. That said, they suffered a disappointing defeat in their last game against the Indiana Pacers, as Jalen Brunson's 40-point performance wasn't enough in an overtime loss.

Wednesday night gave New York an opportunity to bounce back, as they traveled to Philadelphia to face the 76ers.

With Joel Embiid out, the Knicks had their way with Philadelphia and ultimately broke a record for their largest win against the 76ers, handing them a 49-point defeat.

Although it was a complete team effort, it was Jose Alvarado who had the most impressive game for New York. Off the bench, Alvarado made a career-high eight three-pointers and finished the game with 26 points, four assists, three rebounds and a whopping five steals.

Karl-Anthony Towns posted a double-double, finishing the game with 21 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block.

However, New York's defense shined the brightest, holding Philadelphia to 89 points on 38% shooting from the field and 19% shooting from three-point range.

Following the game, Alvarado spoke to the media after his best performance in a Knicks' uniform, signaling even more to come.

"I always thought I was a great shooter, a good shooter. Obviously, it's getting better and I'm going to keep getting better," Alvarado said.

If Alvarado is able to continue making three-pointers at a high percentage, the Knicks will be a tough team to beat in the postseason.

Following the All-Star break, New York will return to action against the conference-leading Detroit Pistons.
