Chelsea ready to annoy Cesc Fabregas and sign ‘top talent’ in the summer

Chelsea’s mantra of signing young talents for the future does not look set to change in the upcoming transfer window despite the fact that supporters are showing their frustrations.

Chelsea fans have even protested against Behdad Eghbali and co before a home game against Brentford, with their ambition being to return to sign some established names again.

The Blues are still linked to the likes of Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton, however a centre-back is likely to still be on their priority list after their January exploits.

They missed out on the signing of Jeremy Jacquet to Liverpool, however reports have stated that they are still willing to enter the market in that position in the summer.

Chelsea want to beat Cesc Fabregas to Kacper Potulski signing

One name who has emerged as a new candidate is Kacper Potulski, who has established himself in the plans at Mainz in the Bundesliga.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg has stated that the Blues are interested in a deal to sign the youngster, with their eyes on moving him to Strasbourg first.

However, he also stated that Como are keen on the player, a side managed by Chelsea legend Cesc Fabregas.

He said: “Kacper Potulski is already one to watch ahead of the summer transfer window. AC Milan, Inter and Como have already gathered information about him. Chelsea – potentially with a loan move to Strasbourg – as well as Brighton and Brentford, are also interested. The 18 y/o centre-back, regarded as a top talent, is under contract at Mainz until 2028.”

There have been comparisons!

Who is Kacper Potulski?

Being just 18 years of age, the Poland U21 international certainly fits the bill for the kind of player Chelsea love to sign.

The 2025/26 season has seen Potulski make his first appearances in European football. He has played five group stage games in the Conference League.

Chelsea are still keeping an eye on new options despite the fact they have signed Aaron Anselmino and Mamadou Sarr already.

The academy is also producing genuine first team options, and many supporters are glad that they have kept hold of Josh Acheampong.
