According to a video making the rounds on social media, a Patriots fan is seen smashing the TV minutes after the Seahawks defeated the Patriots 29-13.
In the clip, a frustrated fan is sitting in front of a large TV as the Seahawks celebrate on screen. During a moment of clear despair, the fan lifts a chair and hits it against the TV, causing apparent damage to the screen. The fan’s dramatic reaction has quickly gone viral, emerging as one of the more extreme responses to the Patriots’ defeat.
The Seahawks dominated the New England Patriots on Thursday night, forcing turnovers and limiting the Patriots’ offensive rhythm.
Easily, the Seahawks readily established control and built a comfortable lead. At the end of the historic event, which marked the second Super Bowl ring for the Seahawks, running back Kenneth Walker III earned the MVP of the game.
Yet, some fans, like the man in the viral video, can’t stomach a loss – especially on Super Bowl night.
“Insane: A Patriots fan lost his mind after they lost the Super Bowl and SMASHED his TV and punched it after.
One of the craziest crash-outs you will ever see. 😬😬😬”

Meanwhile, for the New England Patriots, the loss was an unsavory end to what had otherwise been a remarkable season. Head coach Mike Vrabel, who also won the Coach of the Year award, successfully transformed the team from mediocrity to enviable heights in one season. Regardless of the defeat, the Patriots’ run to the Super Bowl LX will go down as a remarkable one for the franchise in recent history.
