Ann Michael Maye took to Instagram to share a message about the Patriots’ regular season and ultimate Super Bowl 60 loss.
“Not how we wanted it to end but still thanking God for this incredible season,” Maye, the wife of quarterback Drake Maye, captioned her post that included photos from the Super Bowl. “We are blessed to be surrounded by such an amazing group of people, who made this season what it was. This is only the beginning!!”
Maye helped lead New England to a 14-3 record and a Super Bowl 60 appearance. But the quarterback couldn’t get much going against a strong Seattle Seahawks defense and was sacked six times. He also threw two interceptions.
The 23-year-old was the runner-up MVP behind Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford after a strong sophomore season that included a league-best 77.1 QBR, 31 touchdowns (third) and 4,394 yards (fourth).
Ann Michael also emerged as a bit of a star herself. Her “Bakemas” videos went viral in December, which led to a baking show — “Beyond Bakemas” on NBC Sports Boston.
After a long season, Maye is looking forward to the offseason so the couple can spend some time together.
“I have a beautiful wife. I look forward to spending this offseason with my wife,” he said. “That is kind of my first thought. That is going to be the highlight of my offseason, I can tell you that.”
