Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez could be on his way back to England amid interest from Chelsea.
It was recently reported that Barcelona are Alvarez’s first choice if he does leave Atletico this summer.
However, it looks like Chelsea and other English clubs still have a shot at signing the 26-year-old.

As well as Chelsea, Arsenal have also been linked with Alvarez, who has made 32 appearances for Atletico in all competitions this season.

Premier League return still possible for Julian Alvarez
Despite Barcelona reportedly being his preferred destination, Alvarez could still end up in England.
According to ElDesmarque, the former Manchester City star is not ruling out a return to the Premier League in a boost to Chelsea.
In fact, the same outlet has claimed that Chelsea have already made phone calls to find out about his situation at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

While Barcelona may be his preference, it has been said that Chelsea are the ones pushing the hardest for Alvarez’s signature at this moment in time.
The Argentine moving to Stamford Bridge would be bad news for Liam Delap, who has failed to make an impact at Chelsea since joining from Ipswich Town last summer.

Chelsea have to beat Arsenal in Julian Alvarez race
If a move to Barcelona is not viable and Alvarez does decide he wants to return to the Premier League, Chelsea cannot afford to let him join Arsenal.
Liam Rosenior’s side are already playing catch-up and have been for several years now. Allowing a 29-goal striker to join their London rivals will only see the gap between the two clubs increase.
That is the number of goals that Alvarez scored last season after playing 57 games. Seventeen of those goals came in La Liga, while another seven were netted in the Champions League.
All in all, Chelsea must do whatever they can to sign Alvarez in the next transfer window. He can help them to close the distance with Arsenal.
