UEFA have officially released the revenue competing clubs were awarded for their participation in the 2024/25 Champions League season. Europe’s premier competition has been something of a respite for Arne Slot’s men this season.
The Reds finished third in the league phase, outperformed only by Arsenal and Bayern Munich in contrast to the patchy domestic form. Due to the format of the competition, Liverpool already know that they will face either Club Brugge, Galatasaray, Juventus or Atletico Madrid in the last 16 – depending on which outfit survives the two-legged play-off round later this month.
All those sides are no doubt weaker than the PSG side the Reds played at this stage in last year’s competition.
While fans dream about who comes next, UEFA have quietly confirmed the hard numbers behind Liverpool’s Champions League journey last year. In the latest 2024/25 financial and distribution documentation, Liverpool are listed with earnings of worth approximately €98.134 million in central UEFA revenue for the season.
Although UEFA’s public summary does not fully itemise every line of Liverpool’s payout, the total can be understood as coming from several familiar pots.
A significant chunk comes from fixed participation and league‑phase (group‑stage style) bonuses, paid out per match and per result under the new format. On top of that, performance‑related payments for wins and draws, the market‑pool element linked to broadcasting, and the UEFA coefficient share for historic performance all feed into the final €98.134m figure.
Even within the new “league phase” system, the core logic remains the same: the further Liverpool go, and the more they win, the closer that number creeps towards nine‑figure territory.
