Arsenal take on Brentford this evening looking to respond to Manchester City’s victory over Fulham, which closed the gap to just three points at the top of the Premier League. Mikel Arteta has just 13 matches left between his Gunners side and a first title in 22 years, if he can continue to keep his old club behind him.
A new blow has emerged for the Spaniard, as Kai Havertz has since suffered a muscle injury, which is expected to keep him out for the next few weeks. The boost for Arteta is that Leandro Trossard, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard have all come through late fitness tests and could be involved in west London.
The Gunners can certainly take encouragement from their recent record in west London, as they have won on their last four visits to Brentford. However, the Bees have been in excellent form and will present a serious challenge despite being without Kevin Schade, who is suspended.
