The Milwaukee Bucks confirmed what most had suspected on Thursday with word that Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss this weekend’s All-Star Game.
Antetokounmpo, 31, has not played since Jan. 23, sidelined with a strained calf.

The Feb. 15 game was meant to be the Athens native’s ninth All-Star appearance.
In his 13th NBA campaign, the two-time Most Valuable Player has appeared in 30 games, averaging 28.0 points on .645 shooting with 10.0 boards and 5.6 assists over 29.2 minutes a night.
The 2026 All-Star Game, set for Los Angeles’s Intuit Dome, will have a new format featuring two U.S. teams and one World squad.
Antetokounmpo’s absence means San Antonio Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox is going to the game. It will be the 28-year-old New Orleans native’s second All-Star appearance and first since 2023. The Kentucky product is averaging 19.4 PPG on .484 shooting with 6.3 APG and 3.8 RPG over 32.0 MPG.
Because Fox is American, Miami Heat star Norman Powell, who is American, but plays for Jamaica internationally, has been moved to Team World.
Antetokounmpo will still attend All-Star Weekend and be a coach at Friday’s Celebrity Game.
