Las Vegas Raiders defensive star Maxx Crosby has been mentioned in multiple trade rumors since the end of the 2025 NFL season. Former coach Pete Carroll shut him down for the rest of the campaign, as he dealt with knee issues.
That situation reportedly caused tensions between the player and the team, fueling trade rumors. During an appearance on the “Let’s Go!” podcast with Jim Gray, Crosby refused to engage in trade rumors talk, saying that he is focused on completing his recovery.

“My focus has been on getting healthy because that’s all I can control right now,” Crosby said. “That’s all that matters to me is being with my daughters and being with my wife and taking care of myself. People are gonna have rumors.

“I just looked at my phone — I’ve been working all morning. Everyone’s hitting me up, ‘Did you say this?’ I can’t control that. You earn that as a player. If I wasn’t doing the right things and if I wasn’t the person and player I was, people wouldn’t be talking about all the nonsense. But that’s what comes with it. If you have drama, if you have a losing season, they just try to throw gasoline on the fire and make things a certain way.”

Amid trade rumors, another report came out suggesting that Crosby has officially quit on the Raiders. He reportedly told the minority owner his time with the Raiders came to an end.
“He told (Raiders owner and future Hall of Fame quarterback) Tom Brady he will never play for the Raiders again,” an NFL general manager who would have interest in trading for Crosby told Jason LaCanfora of SportsBoom.

“That’s a fact. He told them he’ll retire before he ever plays for them again. But I’m not sure they’re actually going to trade him. (Browns pass rusher) Myles Garrett said the same thing last year, and we know how that ended up.”
The offseason is not even one-week-old for the entire NFL, and drama might be unfolding already.
