SANTA CLARA, CA — A large cluster of bushes ran onto the field at Levi's Stadium Sunday as Bad Bunny prepared to take the stage during the Super Bowl halftime show.
They represented Puerto Rico's sugarcane fields, just one of many symbols of Latin America's landscape, culture and history featured during Bad Bunny's electric star-packed performance.
Under some of those bushes were three Bay Area friends who got the surprise of their lives when they answered a vague casting call that turned out to be for the Super Bowl LX halftime show, according to a CBS News report.
The friends got a second surprise when they were given the bush costumes they'd be wearing for the halftime show, which they say weighed between 45 and 50 pounds, according to the report.
"They weren't lying about us being talked about, but I didn't expect to be like grass, you know, but I would do it again," one of the friends, Humberto Martinez, told CBS News. "Put me back in."
