Las Vegas, NV – February 12, 2026 – Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby addressed the persistent trade speculation surrounding his future for the first time publicly. His comments didn’t exactly sit well with fans on either side of the trade rumors.

NFL News: Maxx Crosby Breaks Silence on Raiders Trade Rumors – ‘I Just Want To Be Left Alone and Play Football’
In comments shared with reporters after a recent workout session (and amplified across outlets including the New York Post), Crosby stated:
“Everyone’s hitting me up, ‘Did you say this?’ I can’t control that,” Crosby said. “You earn that as a player. If I wasn’t doing the right things and if I wasn’t the person and player I was, people wouldn’t be talking about all of the nonsense.”
Crosby added all the noise surrounding him is due to his success on the field and personality off of it.
“If you have drama, if you have a losing season, they just try to throw gasoline on the fire and make things a certain way,” Crosby said. “For me, I know what I’m about, I know what I represent. I really don’t care what everybody has to say.”
When asked about his goals, the seven-year veteran — who’s accumulated 69.5 career sacks, all with the Raiders — said he wants to be in a place where he’s 100 percent himself.
“I just want to play football and be left the f–k alone,” Crosby said.
Background on the Maxx Crosby Trade Rumors
Crosby, 28, has spent his entire seven-year NFL career with the Raiders (drafted fourth round in 2019). He posted another strong season in 2025 (73 tackles, 10 sacks, 28 TFLs, fifth Pro Bowl selection) despite the team’s struggles. Reports from late 2025 and early 2026 (including from Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer) suggested Crosby was “done” with Las Vegas and had even told minority owner Tom Brady he wouldn’t play for the team again.
However, both Kubiak and Davis publicly stated last week they want Crosby to remain in Las Vegas and build around him as a cornerstone of the defense. No formal trade request has been confirmed from Crosby or his representatives.
The Raiders hold significant leverage: Crosby is under contract through 2029, meaning any deal would require a massive haul (likely multiple first-round picks or high-value players). Potential suitors mentioned in rumors include the New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, and Baltimore Ravens.
Crosby’s comments appear aimed at quieting speculation ahead of the NFL Combine, free agency, and the 2026 draft, signaling he intends to stay focused on recovery and team success rather than fueling trade talk.
This developing NFL offseason story keeps Maxx Crosby at the center of Las Vegas’ rebuild narrative. Stay tuned for updates on his rehab progress, any potential trade developments, or further statements from the Raiders organization.
