Alan Smith Sends Arsenal "Twitchy" PL Title Warning After Man City's Liverpool & Fulham Wins

Former Arsenal forward Alan Smith has sent the Gunners a message about their title rivals Man City, who closed the gap to three points.

The Gunners go into their Thursday night game against Brentford with just a three point lead over rivals Man City in the Premier League title race. With a win Arsenal will be able to extend it back to six points, but if they drop points, it could get nervy for Mikel Arteta‘s side.

Man City have had a fantastic week in terms of results, as over the weekend, they scored two late goals to turn around a 1-0 deficit at Anfield to get three points and win 2-1 against Liverpool. Pep Guardiola’s side then managed to beat a tough Fulham side 3-0 on Wednesday night, thanks to goals from Antoine Semenyo, Phil Foden and Erling Haaland.

It makes Arsenal’s game against Brentford that bit more important, and it won’t be easy, as the Bees have won their last two matches against Newcastle and Aston Villa.

Alan Smith sends “twitchy” Arsenal a warning about Man City

Speaking exclusively to GoonerNews via BestBettingSites.co.uk, former Arsenal forward Alan Smith has said that the Gunners will be getting twitchy based on City’s recent form, and has urged them to focus on themselves rather than looking at City.

Smith said: “They’ve definitely got the squad to win the title, there’s no question about that. It’s just where the nerves play a part, and they get a little bit twitchy. They’ve had some moments like that already this season, but they’re getting the results so far.

“They don’t want to get too preoccupied with Manchester City. Obviously, that late win at Liverpool buoyed everybody at City, but it’s in Arsenal’s hands, and they should have enough to see it through.”

The Gunners next three games come against Brentford, Wolves and Tottenham in the Premier League, three very winnable matches for Arteta’s side.
