The Pittsburgh Steelers made a big splash last offseason by trading for DK Metcalf. Metcalf was originally a 2019 second-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks, but he was seeking a contract extension after the 2024 season. The Seahawks opted to send him to the Steelers instead of paying him. Pittsburgh was happy to give Metcalf a massive deal, but Seattle might’ve gotten the last laugh by winning the Super Bowl. Baltimore Ravens corner Marlon Humphrey seemed to take that as an opportunity to throw shade at Metcalf.
“My feelings don’t get hurt too often,” Humphrey said Thursday on Twitter. “But if I left a team, then they won the Super Bowl after, I might feel some type of way.”

Humphrey doesn’t point to any particular player in his message. However, it feels likely that he aimed it at Metcalf. While the Seahawks’ roster went through plenty of changes, including trading away quarterback Geno Smith, Metcalf is the only player that Humphrey might have a bone to pick with.
Not only are the Steelers the Ravens’ biggest rival, but Metcalf got the better of Humphrey this season. The two only faced off once because of Metcalf’s suspension. However, the wide receiver had his best game of the year against Humphrey and the Ravens. He caught seven passes for 148 yards. This included him burning Humphrey for a 52-yard catch to start the game.
Also, the Steelers heartbreakingly ended the Ravens’ season in Week 18. Baltimore had an opportunity to get into the postseason. However, kicker Tyler Loop missed the game-winning field goal as time expired.
Metcalf wasn’t on the field for that game, but it might add to Humphrey’s dislike of the Steelers. Pittsburgh swept his team, and both games were lowlights of their season.
Metcalf would probably feel some type of way if his team didn’t even make the playoffs, too. While he’d love to win a Super Bowl, his monster contract probably makes seeing his former team succeed sting less.
The offseason just started, so Metcalf and Humphrey won’t face off again for a while. When that time comes, we’ll see if the Steelers receiver remembers Humphrey’s potential diss. There’s always a chance that Humphrey didn’t intend for that tweet to be a shot at Metcalf. However, the receiver could still take it like one.
