Report: Chelsea lay down when Romeo Lavia will be allowed to return to action

Romeo Lavia has finally rejoined full Chelsea training at Cobham, but manager Liam Rosenior has warned the midfielder will only be allowed to return on one condition.

Chelsea have been without Romeo Lavia for 23 games in all competitions this season after suffering a thigh/quadriceps injury during the Champions League clash against Qarabağ on November 5.

Lavia has returned to full training for Chelsea, but Liam Rosenior is taking things slowly as expected after such a long injury lay-off.

The FA Cup clash is likely come too soon for Lavia, but it looks like it won’t be too long before we see him get back on the field for the Blues.

Ahead of Hull City, an update has emerged on the midfielder.

Romeo Lavia has to complete Chelsea tick list before he returns

According to the Daily Mail, Romeo Lavia will be allowed to return once he’s ticked “every” box in his rehab behind the scenes at Chelsea.

This will excite Moises Caicedo, who has shared just how much he misses playing with Romeo Lavia.

“As the manager said, he [Romeo Lavia] is a world class player. I enjoy playing with him. I miss him because he’s a very good player.

“He helped me a lot. I am waiting for him because he’s such a good player. He’s going to do very well here.”

But there’s no set timeline for his return.

Chelsea need a fit Romeo Lavia for the tricky upcoming period

The rest of February is rather quiet for Chelsea, with only the Burnley clash in the Premier League to come for the remainder of the month.

Next month is a different story as Arsenal, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Everton are coming up in March, as well the return of the Champions League once the draw is complete.

Chelsea’s current midfield options consist of just Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Andrey Santos, so all the extra firepower will be needed. Especially as Liam Rosenior likes to play a midfield three.
