Mikel Arteta is keen to bring Tonali in, but Arsenal aren’t the only side who have been linked to Tonali, as Man City, Man United and Chelsea have all been linked in the past too.
However, Tonali isn’t the only Newcastle star who Arsenal are reportedly keeping an eye on, as they are scouting one of his midfield teammates.
Arsenal scouting Newcastle star Miley
Lewis Miley is one of the most highly-regarded young midfielders in the Premier League, as he has already shown himself to be an exciting box-to-box player, who could develop into one of England’s best midfield talents.
According to SportsBoom, Arsenal have sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old on multiple occasions for Newcastle this season, and are eyeing a move for him in the summer. They hope to pull a similar coup to when Nottingham Forest signed Elliot Anderson for £35m, as Newcastle needed to sell for PSR reasons.
Miley is also reportedly on the radar of title rivals Man City, and Aston Villa, and any bid could spark somewhat of a bidding war for the 19-year-old.
This season, Miley has made 30 appearances for Newcastle in all competitions, including 19 in the Premier League, and seven in the Champions League. He’s scored three goals, and provided three assists, and is becoming more and more of a regular for Eddie Howe.
It isn’t clear how much he’s going to cost at this stage, but based on his potential, it will be a lot more than his £20m estimated market value.
